Thanks for finally putting together my highchair! Now I can really eat like a big boy.

Alex has been eating solid foods for a while now. We are currently working our way through the world of vegetables. So far there is nothing this kid doesn't like. And he eats with a very healthy appetite. Today's lunch was cereal and peas, followed by a bit of formula. Coming soon, the dreaded spinach...

Alexandre mange des legumes depuis quelques semaines maintenant. Nous sommes en train d'essayer un legume apres l'autre. jusqu'a present il a tous aime. Il a tres bon appetit. Aujourd'hui nous avons mange des cereals et des petits pois avec un peu de lait pour dejeuner. Et bientot il vas essayer les epinards....

Mommy! Daddy's eating me again!

Alex is already learning to rough-house... but when the games get too tough, it's pretty easy to get him laughing. Right now we are working very hard on crawling. Alex has found a temporary fix around the whole co-ordination part. He gets up on all fours, rocks for a little bit, then moves one leg forward. This throws off the balance enough that when he rocks again, he falls forward. Then he starts all over again, having moved a few inches.

Maman! Papa est en train de me manger!

Alexandre apprend a chahuter... pour l'instant papa a le dessus et il me fait bien rigoler. Alex est aussi en train d'apprendre a ramper. Pour le moment il se met a quattre patte, se balance d'avant en arriere, avance sa jambe en evant et tombe avance de quelque centimetre.

Time for another baseball game!

Daddy won extra baseball tickets from work... too bad our teams in a slump. Maybe our cheering will help... We're not doing any good sitting around here, let's get going!

Meeting Anastahja...

This week our friends Heidi and Greg (and their little ones, Charlie & Ana) stopped over for a visit on their way back to Minnesota. Charlie is three... so baby toys held very little interest for him, but as Ana is just a couple months older than Alex, she was willing to try and keep him entertained and maybe teach him a thing or two.

Rencontre avec Anastasia...

Cet semaine nos amies Heidi et Greg (et leur enfants, Charlie et Ana) sont venus nous rendre visite avant de retourner au Minnesota. Charlie a trois ans maintenant... et un bebe n'est pas tres interessant pour lui, mais Ana qui est juste quelques mois plus ages qu'Alex etait plus interesse a essayer d'apprendre a Alex une chose ou deux.

As Alex rolls and works on getting up on all fours, he likes to take his quilts with him. I think he was trying to make himself into a burrito.

Alex also had his first swim... the water was a bit chilly, but we had fun anyway.

Alex spent his first evening away from home at his Aunt Jo's this Friday. Looks like maybe she didn't feed him... he must have been really starving to go after the chair!

Alex a passer sa premiere nuit a l'exterieur chez sa tante Jo ce Vendredi. Il dirait qu'elle ne la pas nourrit... Il devaot vraiment mourir de faim pour manger le fauteil!

Ok, so maybe it's really for the doctor... but we get to show him off at work first. He is growing into many of his outfits, including these fun Tigger shoes... we'll have to get a close-up next time.

Je suis pret a aller au boulot.

OK, je vais vraiment chez le docteur... mais on vas passer au boulot d'abord. Il a bien grandi et ses chaussures de Tigrou lui vont bien.

Daddy taught me the best way to sleep!

It's safe to say, Alex is officially sleeping through the night, even well into the morning. This boy plays hard and sleeps hard. On the rare occassion that he does wake up in the middle of the night, Alex usually talks to his teddy bear for a minute... recounting his dream? And goes back to sleep. On the weekends, after his morning bottle, Alex often joins Mommy in bed for a morning cuddle. The only problem is that he sleeps like his Daddy, taking up as much of the bed as he can reach!

Alexandre gets gifts all the time from our very generous family and friends. This particular hand-dyed ensemble was a gift from thoughtful friends. We are happy to indulge Alex in his pacifist ways... He's working on sitting up, so the sit-ins can't be too far away!

All this playing makes a guy really hungary!

4 Months Old, and Such a Big Boy!

Today was Alexandre's 4 month well-baby check. He has grown quite a bit, weighing in at 14 lbs 10 oz and mesuring 25.5 inches. The doctor is impressed with how strong he is, as he put on quite a show for her. He tried to push up onto his knees in an attempt to crawl while flailing around on the table. He also showed her how he tries to sit up, but leans too far forward in an attempt to keep his balance. Finally, to end the visit, our big boy impressed his parents by not even crying when he got his 3 shots. Alex is now rolling over all the time. He seems to enjoy sleeping on his side or stomach more than on his back.

4 mois et déjà si grand!
Aujourd'hui Alexandre a eu sa visite de 4 mois. Il a beaucoup grandi, il pèse 6 633.78841 g disons 6.6kg et mesure 64.77 centimètre. Le pédiatre a dit qu'il avait beaucoup de force pour son age quand il a attraper son stéthoscope et qu'il ne voulais pas le lâcher. il lui a montré comment il arrive presque a ramper. Il arrive presque a s'assoire tout seul mais il penche un peu trop en avant (il doit avoir trop de chose dans sa tête, c'est de famille) . Pour conclure, Alexandre nous a rendu très fier car il n'a pas pleuré lors de ses trois vaccins. Maintenant qu'il sait se tourner et retourner il dors sur son cote ou sur son ventre. Nous avons aussi remarqué qu'il utilise sa main gauche plus que sa main droite.

Our big boy! Today Alex has figured out how to roll all the way over. For some time he had been able to go from back to front, but he didn't want to spend any time on his tummy... even to figure out how to get back over. But today he did it! And now he is just a tumbling little blur. The floor is now covered in pillows to block him in.

Notre grand garçon! Aujourd'hui Alexandre a compris comment faire pour se retourner. Cela faisait un moment qu'il arrivé a se tourner sur son ventre mais il n'aimait pas ca... il etait frustré très vite. Mais aujourd'hui il a reussi! et maintenant il est comme un tonneau, il fait que rouler jusqu'a ce que quelque chose le bloque. Nous avons due amenager des oreillers par terre pour être sur qu'il ne se cogne pas la tête.

Advice from Alex: It is not necessary to suck on the spoon, but sucking on your thumb between bites is very comforting.
Conseil d'Alexandre: Sucer la cuillère ne marche pas très bien, mais sucer son pouce entre deux bouchée est très sympa.
